What we keep, and what we don’t.

This page covers orlo.email and the early-access list. If you join the list, we keep your email address and the date you joined. That is all.

Who is responsible

Orlo is developed by Aetrix Foundry. For anything on this page, write to [email protected].

What we collect

When you join the early-access list, we store two things:

  • the email address you typed, and
  • the date and time you submitted it.

We do not store your IP address, browser, device, location or the page you came from alongside it. There are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising or tracking scripts on this site. The typefaces are served from orlo.email itself, so your browser doesn’t contact a font provider.

Why we collect it

To write to you once when there is an Orlo build worth trying, and about launch and early-access news. You give us the address for that, and signing up is your consent. We don’t sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own purposes.

Who handles it for us

The site and the list run on Cloudflare, which hosts the pages and stores the list in its database. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives the technical details of each request, including your IP address, to deliver the page and to protect the site from abuse. That processing is Cloudflare’s; we don’t keep that information next to your address or use it to identify you. Cloudflare is a US company, and its privacy policy describes how it handles that data.

We haven’t chosen a service to send email yet. When we do, it will be named here before we use it for the list.

How long we keep it

Only as long as we need it to write to you about Orlo’s launch, or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first. Once the list has done that job, we delete it.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to:

  • tell you whether we hold your address,
  • correct it, or
  • delete it and stop writing to you.

Email [email protected] from the address in question and we will do it, normally within a few days. If you are in the EU, UK or a similar region, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

The app

This page is about the website only. The Orlo app will have its own privacy policy. The short version of its design is that mail is stored on your Mac and not on our servers.

Children

Orlo is not aimed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their addresses.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that affects the list, we will update the date above, and tell people on the list if the change matters to them.
